This is part of the Charter of the JCA:
3. PURPOSEJCA's primary purpose shall be to serve as a center for research in the broad area of astrophysics spanning cosmic rays and the electromagnetic spectrum from gamma rays to the infrared, and including appropriate detector technologies. The research is directed towards improved understanding of thhe origin and structure of the universe and the nature of astrophysical bodies such as galaxies, black holes, quasars, interstellar dust, dark matter etc. It shall also serve as a means to increase the effectiveness of research and teaching through close collaboration, and serve as a means to train personnel for research in revelant areas. |
