Finder Scope

The finder scope can be used to re-align the telescope if the telescope is not pointing to where it should be. This can happen if the telescope has hit a limit switch, if the power goes out and the telescope is not pointing at the zenith, or if the telescope has been accidently pushed.

The finder scope eyepiece has an illuminated reticle (crosshairs). The brightness is controlled by a dial at the top of the power supply at the NE end of the telescope.

Position the target object at the apex of the vertical crosshair and the top horizontal crosshair. Then aquire the object with the CCD to fine-tune to location.
