Outreach
The Astronomy Club

The UMBC Astronomy Club was formed at the beginning of the Fall 2009 semester, and held its first meeting on Sept 9th. The club is currently working on constructing a website, so please check back later...

In the meantime, please contact the club's president Greg Aring (aring1@umbc.edu) if you interested in becoming a member.

The idea of the club is both to make observations using UMBC's 0.8m telescope (that is in the dome on the top of the Physics Bldg!), and to hear talks from students & local experts on a variety of astronomical and/or the latest astrophysical issues.
