Professional History
I received a BSc in Physics with Astrophysics in 1984
from the
Dept of Space Research
at the
Univ. Birmingham (UK), and a
PhD in X-ray Astronomy in 1988 from the
Dept of Physics & Astronomy
at the
Univ. Leicester (UK).
From 1988 until 1991 I was an SERC Postdoctoral Research Associate
at the
Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge (UK)
working with Prof. Andy Fabian.
From 1991 until 1997
I was an archive scientist at the
HEASARC under a contract with the
USRA.
In 1997 Feb, I shead all
HEASARC responsibilities to work with Richard Mushotzky on
XMM data.
In 2000 June, I left
USRA and joined the
Joint Center for Astromony
and an Associate Research Professor.
In 2004 July, I was promoted to a tenue-track
Associate Professor in the Physics Department at UMBC.
