[4097] Physics 316: Extragalactic Astronomy and Cosmology
The Student Presentation
|
Student Presentations will take place on:
(during the regular lecture time-slot)
|
Students will be required to give a short presentation of their
assignment.
- The presentation should be pitched at a level so that
other students in the class can understand the points being made.
- The other students in the class will be encouraged to ask any questions
they might have - which will be
addressed by either the presenter or the instructor (as appropriate).
If time allows, the instructor will give a "sample" presentation at least
2 weeks in advance of those by the students, to give them an idea of
what is expected.
Any overhead transparencies, internet connections etc requested should be
discussed and arranged at least 1 week in advance with the instructor.
This should not be (that) scarey !
-
This part of the process is primarily to get the students
used to presenting material to their peers.
- 5% of the final grade is assigned as a result of the
presentation.
- However, nerves etc will NOT
count against the student.
-
It's the scientific content/clarity that will be assessed.
(& you'll have the
face-to-face,
plus access to the instructor to get your presentation worked out).
