Ockham's Razor

Ockham's Razor is a principle based on a statement made by William of Ockham (English 1285-1349):
"Pluralitas non est ponenda sine neccesitate"
(entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily)
which can be re-expressed in a more modern form as:
the simplest (most succinct) theory is more likely to be correct, and certainly a better working model to (use to make predicting and attempt to) disprove first.
