Overview:
This course emphasizes simple harmonic oscillations & vibrations, wave motion and optics. Topics include mathematical characterization of vibrations and waves, sound, superposition of standing waves, geometrical and physical optics, difffraction, interference and polarization of light. A number of WWW-based aides & summaries will be available, such as a lecture summary, a review summary, and several tips & techniques. This course will also make use of some of the facilities provided by Blackboard.
